Just today, I was introduced to quite a find in the form of Urban Mosadi and her blog. wow! (Yes  I love that word)! WOw!

A friend told me to check out her stuff and little did I know she liked so many of the same things that I do, from Jean Grae to this incredible post on the We Are Visual Exhibition in Woodstock, Cape Town recently.

Being a young artist myself, it is so incredible and so damn useful to gain insight into what other young, south african artists are up to out there. In whatever genre of art that they choose to focus on.Bless Urban Mosadi, because she's opened up a whole new sphere for me. And I hope she doesn't mind me using her great photography without her permission! But I have credited her!Sorry and thank you for the inspiration!

I am loving these images! Wow!

Check out her blog here and be schooled! http://urbanmosadi.blogspot.com/

Kanye's Kreative

I'm a huge fan of hip hop music. While I'm keen on rhymes that most of these artists come up with, I am aware that their creativity is more of a pen meets paper kind that a visual one. One recreates the images in one's own mind, but THEN  I came across this video. Kanye West's Runaway full length video.Where in One's mind, does this come up?!WOW! That's all  I can say.Don't believe the hype that hip-hop is all about vulgarity, violence and objectification of women etc. This is what hip hop is about. An ART of expression! Don't RUNAWAY from that!

Portraits

I came across these fascinating portraits done by Jelma Geertsma. Incredible stuff...This what Geertsma had to say of these portraits below:

"Series of portraits I'm making of my family, for a project at the school of the arts. The portraits are made up of attributes that each of us have for our hobbies or work. The upper-right corner shows painted portraits as well, which are painted by my father.
There will be 4 portraits in total... "

I am taken with this work...

Intel Visual Life - The Sartorialist

Well I guess it should start with happy New year! I'm back! Feeling refreshed and inspired. Being a novice blogger like myself, I thought I'd venture into the world of more established bloggers, but ones with a passion for all things visual, art and just life. I stumbled upon the Sartorialist through recommendations I'd received. Amazing stuff. Inspiring too...I love how he says"You fall in love a little every day, are seduced a little day."

That is life, that is life.

This is a short film done on his work, very interesting to see. Love to see what catches other people's eye!

Wishing you all the best in 20-Elevate!
